Pease Pottage Village Football Club

13 July 2010 - THREE BRIDGES RESERVES   0-2   PEASE POTTAGE - FRIENDLY
A cracking game of football in the first half in which Chris Williams should have had a hat-trick for Pottage in the first 6 minutes and the score could have been 2-3 in the first 15 mins!!
Almost from the off, Neupert ran the ball down the line from the back and crossed to Williams who held his line but the shot went just wide of the post.  This was followed by another run down the line from Shugaa after a great effort to keep the ball in play and a cross to Williams who hit the bar.  Another shot from Williams again just skimmed the corner crossbar.  Bridges also had a couple of good chances when they hit the bar from a free kick and a lob over Francis in the Pottage goal was cleared by Neupert off the line.  Pottage had more chances in the first half but Bridges were saved by their keeper when he found himself one-on-one with Williams (again).
Shugaa started the the second half looking the liveliest for Pottage and saw two shots go just wide in the first 5 mins.  However, it was Dan Paton who broke the stalemate for Pottage with a fantastic volley from the edge of the box on 51 mins.  Just 7 mins later, Shugaa picked up the ball on 25 yds, took it into the box and shot for Pottage's second goal.
The remainer of the half was end-to-end with another shot from Williams hitting the side netting and a number of other shots going just wide or being saved.  Bridges had a couple of half chances but saw their shots going awry or saved by Francis.
A good win for Pottage and a great opportunity to take a good look at the trialists.

24 July 2010 - PEASE POTTAGE   3-0   WISDOM SPORTS - FRIENDLY
Pottage started strong and had the best of the opportunities in the first 20 minutes with shots from Mo Shugaa, Chris Williams and Martin Geddes-Jones going wide or over the bar. Bonner in the Pottage goal didn’t have much to do due to some good defending from Grant Neale and Jack Munday. Sean Campbell and Mo Shugaa looked strong in the middle for Pottage but on 30 mins Wisdom went close with a lob from Sheeran. The Wisdom keeper made a good save from Williams after a corner from Geddes-Jones and then Wisdom went close when they hit the bar from a well struck free-kick by Willow. Wisdom looked dangerous on the break with Ashley Mahoney working hard. However, Williams was put clear again by Shugaa, but his weak shot went straight at the keeper, leaving a score of 0-0 at half time.
The second half began with Pottage applying the pressure and had shots by Williams and new trialist, Levi Coleman, cleared off the line. However, Pottage finally opened the scoring on 55 mins when a tremendous ball by Geddes-Jones put Coleman through to beat the advancing keeper from an acute angle. Geddes-Jones was proving to be a handful for Wisdom and he again managed to put through a great pass to Dane Vincent who had a good shot saved.
Coleman found himself brought down in the box by the Wisdom keeper on 70 mins and Williams stepped up to put the penalty away. A flowing move between Levi and Geddes-Jones was finished off with an unstoppable shot from Ross Swaine for a 3-0 victory to Pottage giving them their third win from three games.
