THIRD TEAM SPONSOR:

Pease Pottage were on the road once again with a trip to East Court. Pottage won a corner with their first attack of the game and, direct from the corner Sam Wetherall hit the crossbar, the ball fell to full back Matt Coleman who also hit the crossbar, with opposite full back Andy Haynes striking the rebound wide. Pottage had five or six chances before finally opening the scoring after JOE SWEI controlled a long ball before finishing into the bottom corner. The lead was doubled a couple of minutes later with a ball over the top this time controlled by STEVE BURTON who scored his first of the game. Pottage continued to dominate, and goals 3, 4 and 5 were soon scored, STEVE BURTON and JOE SWEI both scoring their second goals with SAM WETHERALL getting on the score sheet. STEVE BURTON made it 6-0 with his hatrick goal, before East Court scored just before the half time whistle. HT 6-1.
The second half started slowly, with both teams playing some nice football and creating chances but the next goal wasn't until 15 minutes into the half, STEVE BURTON scoring with a lob from just inside the area for his 4th. East Court scored when the ball wasn't cleared to pull a goal back, and then played 5 minutes of some nice passing football which created a couple of half chances, with the centre pairing of Leigh Watkins and George Newman tackling strongly and stand-in goal keeper Tony Symonds making a couple of good saves. Pottage made a sub with injured Joe Swei leaving the pitch, being replaced by Josh Wetherall and with one of his first touches, he set up JOE MASTERSON for the goal of the game, a half volley from 22 yards to make it 8-2. As the game moved into the last few minutes, East Court scored a third before JOSH WETHERALL bundled the ball in and STEVE BURTON scored his 5th goal with a header from 8 yards to complete the scoring.
