22nd October - Changes within the management teams Further to last weekend's developments, it is now confirmed that first team assistant manager James Field will be reserve team manager with immediate effect, swapping with Mark Glover who will now take up the post of first team coach. In addition we are very pleased to welcome John Dutton to Pease Pottage who will also be joining the first team management team. John who is known to all on the county scene as "JD" will be taking on the role of Assistant manager. 39 year old JD was a trainee at Brighton & Hove Albion & Watford in the early days of his playing career as well as playing for the likes of Sussex Rep side, Littlehampton, Steyning & Worthing Utd in his later years. JD also managed Worthing Utd in Division one for a short period when he stepped in when the club were in a perilous situation languishing near the bottom of the table. Doing a minor Steve Gritt act Worthing Utd avoided relegation that season. He also managed Lancing Reserves & Southwick Reserves gaining promotion to Reserve Section Premier on both occasions, Southwick being last season. JD will be going straight into action Saturday for our home game against Forest Welcome JD "Sarge"
Having threatened to do it on more than one occasion this season, the reserves at long last found their goal scoring touch and thumped Saltdean 5-1. Despite leading 1-0 at half time and in control, the first team had 5 minutes of sheer madness at the start of the second half and conceded 3 quick goals, and although they rallied eventualy went down 4-2 at Little Common.
With 5 different goalscorers in a 5-2 win, Pottage progressed through to the third round of the Mid Sussex cup to play away to either Lindfield or Southwater. The reserves still seek their first home of the season after going down 2-0 to Newhaven, despite dominationg for most of the match. Both the youth games ended in draws with the SCFL team drawing 3-3 at Mile Oak and the CDFL team drawing 0-0 with Crowborough. | SUSSEX COUNTY DIVISION 3
